Going 'till Failure

Abstract

Going ‘till Failure is a short film written and directed by Jesus Quintana, a sophomore Art Scholar student whose main mission is to inspire and incite hope in his audience. The film follows the main protagonist going on a routine jog around his college campus. A narrator speaks over the routine in a spoken word manner, almost as if they are reading poetry. The run will act as a metaphor for how the protagonist copes with his fear of failure, whether that be a healthy or unhealthy habit. The end goal of this film is to provide insight into how to overcome failure, speaking to a young adult audience that may relate to the anxieties failure brings. Through the utilization of different filming techniques such as the use of a dolly, camera angles, and color schemes, the director aims to not only tell a story about personal growth but visually show the story of a young man navigating through life.
